With my 20+ year background in osteopathy, health sciences, kPNI and multidisciplinary collaboration, I view health complaints differently than a standard practice.
In addition to osteopathy, I am specialised in psychosomatics. In this unique combination, I focus on the interaction between body and mind. Many physical complaints actually originate in prolonged stress, unprocessed emotions or trauma. These tensions can become lodged in the body and lead to complaints such as chronic pain, fatigue or unexplained physical symptoms.
Through a combination of classical osteopathic techniques and psychosomatic methods, I help you resolve both physical and emotional blockages in the body.

But in practice, I often see something else.
When Osteopathy Is Not the Whole Answer
The complaint is rarely standalone.
Multiple factors are at play simultaneously — physical, mental and sometimes also lifestyle- or care-related.
Perhaps you recognise this:

• There is no clear diagnosis, but it feels that “more is going on”

In such situations, osteopathy can be valuable — but it is not always sufficient as a standalone intervention.

Important nuance: This pathway is specifically intended for situations with increased complexity, time pressure or high stakes, where continuous involvement is essential.

Thomas M. Pfaff is registered as an osteopath with the Dutch Register for Osteopathy. As a result, your osteopathy is partially or fully reimbursed through your supplementary insurance.
* Care coordination requires continuity and advocacy, therefore a minimum of 3 months.

Liaison Spain — International
For expats and retirees who regularly move between the Netherlands and Spain, continuity of care is often a challenge.
That is why I work alternately in Alicante and Utrecht, according to a fixed rhythm of 21 days in Spain and 9 days in the Netherlands.
I am regularly in the Netherlands for consultations with care partners and institutions, so that lines remain short and coordination runs efficiently.
